Students at Jo Mackey Academy are preparing for the world of television broadcasting.
The fifth graders do everything from the research to the anchoring for a school broadcast every morning.
The show focuses on everything from the day's lunch to more timely events like Black History Month in February.
One student, Alexes O'Neal says, "You actually get to go through it before we do it live so you know what the words are and what you're talking about."
Other students like Anayssa Morales say broadcasting teaches them a lot of lessons. "You need to be able to be there on time or else you're pretty much not being responsible and this whole school is about being like a leader, that's what Jo Mackey is about."
