There's a hotly contested battle for Ward 6 in Las Vegas. It's one of the fastest growing parts of the valley, bordered by I-215 to the west and Decatur to the east. It stretches north of Kyle Canyon Road and south to Gowan Road.
The contest saw incumbent Steve Ross up against Jennifer Taylor. With near 55-percent of the vote, Steve Ross is the projected winner.
City Councilman Larry Brown's old seat was also up for grabs. Ward 4 stretches from I-215 in the west to U.S. 95 in the east, and then from Summerlin Parkway in the south end. Most of the ward only goes as far north as Alexander Road.
Glenn Trowbridge will be facing Stavros Anthony in the General Election.
Another big race was for mayor in Henderson where Andy Hafen will likely face Steve Kirk, as the two has garnered the majority of votes.
The race for mayor in North Las Vegas was also up for grabs. Shari Buck will be facing William Robinson for North Las Vegas' top job in the General Election.
