Students from Silverado Rancho High School are getting hands on training in the world of culinary arts. In fact, they are so good they have made it to the national Pro Start competition in San Diego!
Right now, they are working at Andre's Restaurant at the Monte Carlo. The hands-on work is helping them prepare for the national competition.
"It's probably the first time they are in a real restaurant, but those kids are you know, 14, 15, 16 years old and they are just as good as some of the cooks I have seen in the restaurant," said Chef Andre.
In the national competition, students will have one hour to cook everything from the appetizers to the dessert.
The students are making a ravioli appetizer and duck breast entree for the competition.
