LAS VEGAS (AP) - At veteran's cemeteries north and south, residents turned out Monday to honor military service members who died in the nation's conflicts and to remember Nevadans killed in Afghanistan and Iraq since last Memorial Day.
In Fernley, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid solemly added a fourth name to the toll of the fallen, citing Navy Crewman 3rd Class Sean M. Ward of Lovelock.
The 20-year-old Ward was 1 of 5 crew members on a helicopter that crashed earlier this month on a training flight southwest of San Diego.
Sen. John Ensign, Congresswoman Dina Titus and local elected officials joined several hundred people for ceremonies in Boulder City.
Congresswoman Shelley Berkley called for remembering the stories behind each of the fallen being honored on Memorial Day.
