A decision by California's State Supreme Court sparked protests around the country and in Las Vegas. The court decided in favor of a voter approved decision to ban same sex marriage.
In Las Vegas, supporters of same sex marriage gathered to show their displeasure with the decision in California. People say the California Supreme Court decision, and Governor Jim Gibbons' decision not to sign a domestic partnership bill is an attack on equal rights.
"Its just about now getting our names out there, getting our faces out there, letting people know that we are still looking for our rights. We're still fighting for our rights," said Desiree Duncan with the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada.
Those who supported the ban are happy with the court's decision. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says marriage should be between a man and a woman and the ruling has a profound implications for society.
