Guidelines Set for High Speed Train

Updated:

Soon it could be full steam ahead for high-speed rail plans in California and the Midwest, but only if they can get their hands on $8 billion in stimulus money.

The Obama Administration has released what they need to do in order to get some of that cash. The guidelines will favor states that already have revenue source and cooperation from other states, like the Desert Xpress. That project would put a high speed train from Victorville, California to Las Vegas.

It already has the support of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Senator Harry Reid.

States have until August to get their application papers for the rail money to Washington.
