New Law Cracks Down on Child Prostitution

Updated:

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Governor Jim Gibbons signed a bill Monday morning that makes Nevada's child prostitution laws some of the strictest in the country.

The new bill AB 380 lets the state freeze and seize assets of people convicted of pandering or prostitution of a child. It also allows for a $500,000 fine for trafficking prostitutes younger than 14 years old.

Last year, Metro police handled 150 cases of child prostitution.
