LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- There are a lot of questions being asked after a tiger got out of its cage in a northwest Las Vegas neighborhood. A woman called Las Vegas Metropolitan Police when she saw a tiger walking along a road in a neighborhood near Elkhorn and Torrey Pines.
The big cat was rounded up, but a lot of people want to know what was a cat doing there in the first place.
The tiger is part of a magic act and actually kept in the back of a home on Torrey Pines and Dorrell Lane. A sign identifies this business as Fercos Brothers Untamed Illusions. It's run by Tony and Ferdinand Fercos and they perform all over the world.
The owner tells police he was walking one of his fully-grown tigers -- the tiger had some stitches and needed to be walked in the grass as part of his recovery -- but something startled the exotic animal and he ran into a neighbor's backyard.
The initial information reported to police was that the tiger was walking down Jones Blvd.
The animal's handler successfully brought the tiger back home before police arrived. Las Vegas Animal Control will investigate the matter.
