Danny Tarkanian, a former UNLV basketball player and Secretary of State candidate, has announced his candidacy for United States Senate, running against current Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Tarkanian has launched a website that solicits funds and has a short introduction video.
In a statement, Tarkanian said, "I am certainly not a Washington insider, but speaking just as a Nevadan, I'm very concerned about the direction Senator Reid is taking us in Washington.
Tarkanian most recently ran for Nevada State Senate in 2008, losing to Senator Mike Schneider. He then won a libel lawsuit against Schneider for claims made during their heated race.
