Lawmakers around the country are getting an earful from their constituents at town hall meetings to discuss the proposed health care reform bills.
President Barack Obama held a own town hall Tuesday trying to dispel rumors that the health care reform plan is socialized medicine. He also emphatically denied that any of the proposed bills carries mandatory euthanasia. He also focused on how the plan will help the insured as well as the un-insured.
No town halls are scheduled in southern Nevada. Instead state representatives are using the phone to seek input.
Spokespersons for Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign and Congresswomen Dina Titus and Shelley Berkley say they plan to schedule tele-town halls. They will use robo-calls giving people the option to join or opt out of the discussion.
Congressman Dean Heller did not respond to a request for information on his town hall plans.
