
Shirley B. Parraguirre, who was instrumental in implementing and expanding the digital age in to the Clark County Clerk's office, passed away Sunday night after a long battle with cancer.
Parraguirre headed the Clark County Clerk's office through a time of unprecedented growth and was responsible for extending office hours and opening up satellite offices in Laughlin, Mesquite and Henderson to improve customer service. Also under her leadership electronic filing of court documents, E-Commerce transactions for online customers seeking to apply for marriage licenses was implemented.
Assistant County Clerk Diana Alba will take over Parraguirre's responsibilities until the Clark County Commission appoints a replacement, expected to occur at its Sept. 15 meeting. Funeral service arrangements are pending. According to a Clark County new release.
