Henderson Police Officer Shoots at Suspect

Updated:

A man has been arrested by Henderson Police after they say he tried to run an officer over with his car.

Police say the incident started when a woman called 911 saying her husband was trying to commit suicide. As officers arrived at the scene, the man plowed through a closed garage door in a car and tried to leave the area. A short chase ensued and that's when police say the man tried to ram an officer. That officer fired his weapon once at the suspect and missed.

The man then got out of his truck and briefly struggled with police before being taken into custody. He has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer.

Neighbors say the man worked in the construction industry and hasn't been able to find work. They say the couple was down on their luck and possibly going into foreclosure.
