Vegas Judge Sends ACORN Case to Trial

Updated:

A Las Vegas judge has decided that a case against the political advocacy group ACORN and a former employee will go to trial on charges they paid canvassers to collect voter registration charges last year.

A former Nevada supervisor for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now testified Tuesday.

Christopher Edwards told Las Vegas Justice of the Peace William Jansen that quotas were common and no one at ACORN stopped him from awarding $5 "blackjack" bonuses to canvassers who collected more than 21 voter registration cards per shift during last year's presidential campaign.

ACORN officials say 21 was a goal, not a quota.
