Accused Swindler Heads to Court

Updated:

A trial date has now been set in the case of a man accused of stealing homes and then renting them out.

Eric Alpert faces 22 felonies for what police called a brazen attempt at fraud. Alpert was in court Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He pled not guilty to the crimes.

The trial is scheduled to start in the middle of January. If convicted, he could face 140 years in prison.
