Meet Dana. This 20-year-old can't remember life without digestive disease. Diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age three, she has been in and out of the hospital nearly her whole life, missing out on events like her prom and summer break while recovering from surgeries. Even after enduring a life-threatening complication on top of all that, this college student embodies hope, perseverance, and empathy beyond her years.
Dana's life with Crohn's disease has taught her some valuable life lessons she may have otherwise not learned. "I have great empathy for those around me. I truly appreciate my life, each and every day, and my health," she says. "While living with Crohn's may be tough, it has taught me I can persevere through anything and be a fighter."
