Clark County Commission Chairman Rory Reid has officially announced his candidacy for Nevada Governor. He launched his campaign at Doris Hancock Elementary, the school he attended as a child.
Reid says his plans for the future include securing our state's economy, workforce, education and energy production. So far, Reid is the only Democrat running.
Two Republicans have already announced to run against Governor Jim Gibbons in the primary. They are former North Las Vegas Mayor Michael Montandon and former federal judge Brian Sandoval.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is considering a run as an independent, but has not made a decision yet.
