
Pahrump sexual assault suspect Samuel Hamett is under arrest on new charges.
According to Nye County detectives, the 57-year-old Hamett, visited with the mother of one of the children he is accused of abusing. Police say he intimidated her and offered to pay her if she would not show up at his trial.
Hamett is facing 40 counts which include child abuse, lewdness and sexual assault involving children ranging in age from toddlers to 14-year-olds. Hamett is now also facing charges of bribing or intimidating a witness and attempting to prevent a witness from testifying.
Hamett is in jail on a $260,000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 27th.
