LAS VEGAS -- A motorcyclist died in an accident Monday evening. The accident happened at Stewart and Nellis around 6:30 p.m.
Police say the motorcyclist was travelling north on Nellis when an ambulance entered the intersection at Stewart. The ambulance had it's emergency lights on and, according to police, instead of slowing down, the motorcyclist accelerated through the intersection.
At the same time, a Toyota was slowing down to make a right-hand turn in front of the motorcyclist and the driver couldn't stop. He struck the right side of the car and died at the scene. Police say speed was a factor in the crash.
