LAS VEGAS (AP) - A vintage marriage chapel that stood for more than three decades on the Las Vegas Strip will reopen Saturday evening with a party, live music and a wedding cake at the Clark County Museum.
It opened in 1966 and was the All Religions Wedding Chapel before it was renamed the Candlelight Wedding Chapel. It was 1 of 2 freestanding wedding chapels on the Strip.
It closed in 2003, when the property was sold for the Fontainebleau project.
Gordon Gust operated the business for 33 years. He bought the building and donated it to Clark County. It was moved in 2007 to the museum off Boulder Highway.
Nevada Commission on Cultural Affairs and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority grants paid for the renovation as part of Clark County's 2009 centennial celebration.
