Doing something nice for somebody else can be a win-win situation for everyone. And now, a bunch of valley high school students are raising the bar for everybody else.
Thirteen high schools have wrapped up a six-week food drive with the Three Square Food Bank.
Las Vegas Academy student, Kimberly Lerner says, "This is the first time we've done a food drive where the whole school has participated. We had really good major wars and class participation and we raised over 10,000 pounds of food."
Combined, the participating high schools raised 50,122 of food, the equivalent of 39,000 meals.
This holiday season, one in 10 households will struggle with hunger. The food that was collected will help give those less fortunate, access to meals.
