A lawyer says an 86-year-old Las Vegas man will plead guilty to fatally shooting his 80-year-old wife last September in a botched suicide pact.
Joseph Woods' lawyer, Dan Silverstein, says Woods intends to plead guilty Dec. 2 in Clark County District Court to voluntary manslaughter.
Silverstein says Woods could face probation or up to 10 years in prison at sentencing.
Woods didn't appear in court for arraignment Friday. Silverstein says he's being treated at a nursing home for what authorities say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the stomach.
Woods was found wounded near the body of his 80-year-old wife, Kay. Authorities say she died of a gunshot wound to her shoulder.
Investigators say Kay Woods suffered from chronic pain, and that the couple had a murder suicide pact.
