Cool at School: Jazzing Things Up

Posted: Updated:

The early bird jazz band at Sig Rogich Middle School is playing tunes before the other kids arrive for class. They work together and enjoy doing it.

Eighth grader, Karina Foster, says, "It's challenging. Some of the music we play is really hard so we have to practice a lot more than usual."

The students compete locally and state-wide. They play at all school functions and even play in the courtyard before school starts. Eighth grader, Lily Ross, says, "It's pretty tiring. You come in and you make so many new friends and you play really cool music." And that's why so many students are giving the early bird jazz band a shot.
