The I-Team has learned the North Las Vegas City Council will be asked to approve a so-called platinum parachute for its departing city manager, meaning an especially generous severance package.
Gregory Rose relinquished his official duties last week following an I-Team investigation of the city's use of tax money meant to hire more police officers.
Rose's resignation is contingent on the council's approval of more than $300,000 in severance pay, plus the cost of benefits for Rose and his family for one year.
The terms are part of a contract rose negotiated under the previous city council earlier this year.
According to the posted agenda, if approved, Rose's resignation would be effective December 22, 2009.
