Nevada Legislators Take Time to Remember KLAS Anchor Polly Gonzalez

Legislators in both houses took time Tuesday to remember KLAS anchor Polly Gonzalez, who was killed Monday in a car accident in California, just north of Baker.

Lieutenant Gov. Lorraine Hunt gave a short speech remembering Gonzalez' involvment in the Hispanic community and her devotion as a single mother to her two daughters, Sabrina and Gabriella.

"Through her work in the Hispanic community, Gonzalez reminded young Latinos that they could follow their dreams," Hunt said.

"Gonzalez' devotion to her daughters led her to drive them to Death Valley Monday to see wildflowers blooming," said Assemblyman John Oceguera, (D) Las Vegas, who also memorialized Gonzalez on the Assembly floor.

"Today we honor Polly's passion for life -- her children, her work, and her work in the community,'' Oceguera said.
