The Michael Jackson verdict is was the lead story across the world. The Jackson trial was found not just on tabloids but also more high-minded newspapers.

Most countries do not allow detailed day-by-day, play-by-play of trial testimony and commentary that we see in this country.

Tom Mesereau, Michael Jackson's attorney, says, "He's had a terrible of time with this. It was month after month of torture for him."

The world is reacting to the Michael Jackson verdict today with fans saying the pop star has been vindicated and others talking about his future.

The jury announced its decision Monday after a 3-month trial and 7 days of deliberation. The question now is what is next for the man who was once the biggest star in music.

It was fairly peaceful outside of Jackson's Neverland Ranch until his father Joe drove out the front gate. He was swarmed by cameras and reporters anxious for word about the pop star. The patriarch of the musical family was outspoken about what he says is media bias against Michael and said his son would talk eventually.

Some fans are gathered at Neverland hoping for even a glimpse of their idol. But Jackson is reportedly too exhausted from his ordeal.

Attorney Thomas Mesereau said, "He has to spend some time healing, you know. It has taken a toll on him. He has trouble sleeping and eating, but he is looking forward to the future."

Jurors said there just wasn't enough evidence against the star to convict him -- no smoking gun -- although one juror believes Jackson is a pedophile.

Juror Ray Hultman stated, "This wasn't the case where Michael Jackson was going to be guilty of this and that's not to say he's an innocent man. He's just not guilty of doing what he's charged with."

The question now is can the top selling artist of all time shake his image as a bizarre, childlike recluse?

Randy Taraborrelli, a Michael Jackson biographer and CBS News consultant, said, "I hope that he finds a different image for himself. I think that the Peter Pan image is dead and gone."

A first step Jackson's attorney says is Michael Jackson will no longer allow children to sleep in his bed.

A new poll in USA Today shows that nearly half the people surveyed think Michael Jackson is guilty.

The surrvey asked people if they agreed with the verdict -- 48-percent said no, 34-percent said yes and 18-percent had no opinion.
