Las Vegas Missing Persons

Two-year-old Everlyse is among hundreds of people missing in Las Vegas right now. In fact, Metro's Missing Persons unit handles up to 1,700 cases a month, everything from runaways to kidnappings fall under the umbrella of missing persons.

Metro Sergeant Tom Wagner begins everyday with the same daunting task staring into the eyes of the missing, and knowing that for some, their fate lies in the palm of his hand.

Sergeant Wagner said, "I have to assign the 98 cases that came in over the weekend."

Nearly 100 people vanished over the weekend, and he says that is not unusual.

Sgt. Wagner said, "Vegas has been known as a place to just disappear."

Nearly 400 people are missing in the valley. Wagner says many of them are runaways. But it's what they've left behind that keeps him hard at work.

Mark Desjardins and Lisa Delrymple haven't touched their 15-year-old daughter Tiffany's room since she disappeared last month.

Mark Desjardins said, "We just want her back you know."

She went to the gym one evening and never returned.

Lisa Delrymple added, "Based on her age, 15, it is typical here in Las Vegas a lot of teens runaway for a couple of days and normally they come back."

Fliers were made in hopes she would return, a hope police are working hard to fulfill.

Sgt. Wagner continued, "We need to put ourselves in those parents shoes. If my loved one was missing, I would want police to do everything they could every hour and not give up on my child."

Tiffany's laundry waits, her shoes remain where she left them, and her desk is covered in her homework.

Mark Desjardins said, "Hopefully, there's nothing wrong with her."

Sgt. Wagner says he and his team will do everything they can to help give her parents closure.

Metro says they find about 90-percent of all people who disappear.

If you have information about anyone who has one missing, you are asked to call police at 229-LOST.
