Technology has certainly changed the world we live in - at work, at home, and at school. In fact, some students here in the valley can now attend high school without ever leaving home.
It's called Virtual High School and offers 115 courses, including Chinese. Students do all of their work online, but take final exams in person. There, they must score 60% or better to receive credit for the class.
Chandra Stevens is one of eighteen-hundred students in the Clark County School District who go to Virtual High School. Chandra loves taking classes online. "I have my schedule worked out where I can go to work, come home, and still not miss any of my classes."
Virtual High School Assistant Principal Jami Miller says the program has made amazing strides in recent years. "Within the last three years we've become a full-time school, we had a graduation ceremony last year, had virtual proms."
They even have virtual elections and Chandra is the Virtual High School Student-Body President. "We campaigned, gave speeches to class," Chandra explains. "There is an online poll that comes up in your classes. You vote and I won."
