Drunk Man Breaks Into McCarran Airport, Takes Tractor For Joyride

Police say a man who jumped a security fence at McCarran International Airport and led security officials on a chase was probably drunk.

They say 28-year-old Joshua Scheuerman stole a tractor used to pull luggage carts and drove it past two perimeter fences onto airport property.

During the chase he hit and damaged a private aircraft before rolling it into a ditch. The chase continued on foot until he was caught.

Scheuerman rolled the tractor into a ditch and then attempted to run. He was stopped by Department of Aviation officers.

Scheuerman faces a number of charges including grand larceny and trespassing. He was arrested early Tuesday morning after breeching the secure area near McCarran.

He was booked on numerous charges, including grand larceny and malicious destruction of private property. He was accused by police of breaching two perimeter fences at Quail Air Center.
