
We've shown you a lot of cool school programs that get kids excited about learning. But this one helps students relax and chill out. We're talking about yoga!
Yoga is now part of the P.E. curriculum at O'Callaghan Middle School.
Hoai-My Winder was convinced the combination of poses, focus and breathing would be good for the kids, so she started the program here. "Yoga is up-and-coming and hip. And believe me, middle school girls want to know everything that's up-and-coming and hip!"
Winder also puts the boy's basketball team through the moves. Yoga helps reduce the risk of injury by making the players more flexible.
Students like Haley Sosa love the mental benefits of yoga, as well. "It helps you relax, like you might have a big test afterwards. [It] calms you down."
