Chester Stiles' Former Girlfriend Fears For Her Safety

The history of a suspect in the video-taped sexual assault of three-year-old girl is coming into focus. Each day more people are coming forward to give their accounts of Chester Stiles, who is wanted by Las Vegas police as well as the FBI.

Stiles is accused of assaulting at least two young girls in the valley, one he allegedly taped.

One person who came forward says she knew Stiles intimately. She's a woman he dated on-and-off for a decade. Tina Allen, the former girlfriend of Chester Stiles, said she feels disgusted, ashamed and guilty for introducing Stiles to the young victim's family.

The 45-year-old Allen said she never realized she was putting her friends and family in harms way when she introduced Chester Stiles to them. Allen says the picture she had of her then boyfriend is a far cry from the man who's accused of sexually assaulting little girls.

She has viewed portions of the videotape and says there is no doubt that the man sexually abusing the three-year-old girl is Stiles.

Metro is now handing the case because the videotape detailing the abuse, although found in Nye County, was allegedly made in Las Vegas.

One Suspect Arrested, Another Still at Large

Allen who dated Stiles over a 10-year period says she now lives in fear and will have to move because Stiles, who is still at large, knows where she lives.

"The man is vicious, devious. He's a liar and a thief. He is vindictive. I am scared for my family and myself," Allen said.

Allen said that Stiles seemed like a very normal person when she dated him and that he treated her five children very well.

"He was very good to my kids," she said.

Allen introduced Stiles to the three-year-old victim and the victim's family.  There was a period of time, the families lived together. Allen said she could not remember if there was ever an incident when Stiles was left alone with the victim. She said Stiles was very good at gaining people's trust.

"The last few days I found myself wondering who I am, how could I have let this happen? How could I have trusted somebody to bring them into my circle of family and friends who is not trustworthy? How could I have not seen it?"

Police discovered the child's identity on Friday and say she has no memory of the abuse. They say the 7-year-old girl is safe and healthy and the news of the abuse was shocking to child's mother.

Allen says she was aware of another incident involving an allegation that Stiles committed lewdness with a six-year-old girl. She said she believed him when he denied do anything wrong.

The federal government filed an unlawful flight warrant for the arrest of Stiles which allows the FBI to use their resources to find him. Police say catching Stiles is a top priority to make sure he does not attack another little girl.

Police consider Stiles to be dangerous. Allen says he has good survivalist instincts, and she does not believe he will be taken without a fight.

Meanwhile, the Nye County sheriff's department is the taking the brunt of critics in the national media, who say they bungled the investigation.

The crime was first uncovered in Pahrump, where investigators agonized over whether to go public with the little girl's picture.

Nye County Sheriff Anthony DeMeo spoke only to Eyewitness News. Sheriff DeMeo was very open about the decisions to show the young girl's face and tell the world her name. He calls it an extreme and desperate step, but one that appears to have broken this case wide open.
