Former Las Vegas High School Coach Charged With Sexual Misconduct

Updated:

A former Clark County school district track coach has been charged with sexual misconduct with a student.

Kenneth Craig, 28, was arrested last week after a seven month investigation.

Metro police say the Las Vegas high track coach started a sexual relationship with a senior track runner. The police report says the girl got pregnant and says Craig's girlfriend at the time paid for the abortion.

E-mails between Craig and the girl allege that Craig knew he shouldn't be dating a student and told her he could only visit her at night.

Craig worked as a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District from May 2003 to May 2007. He was a track coach at Las Vegas High School from February to May 2006, according to a police arrest report.

Craig faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 20 on a felony charge. The charge carries a possible sentence of one to five years in prison.
