Investigators want to know whether the driver of the car she was in was racing when he lost control.
Fifteen-year-old Olivia Hyten's family has been searching for answers since the accident took her life. They say so far no one can even tell them for sure if she was wearing her seatbelt.
But new details may come to light about the accident. Henderson Police confirm they have finished their investigation and have handed it over to the District Attorney.
At this point, the driver of the truck Olivia was riding in has not been charged, but police have always said charges may be filed against him at a later date. Sources say there will be a hearing Friday where charges could be filed.
Last month, Olivia's mom said she was eager for the investigation to end so she could finally get some answers.
"I don't feel that the truth is out yet. I don't feel this boy is being honest. I'm sickened by what is being hidden because of what needs to be hidden right now," said Teresa Brandise.
Another truck filled with teens was also thought to be involved in the crash. They were possibly racing, but several of the teens deny that the two drivers were racing at all.
There are still many pieces of this puzzle that have not come to light, but now that the case has been handed over to the DA, the circumstances of the crash may become clearer.
