One man is dead and two Metro officers are on routine leave after an officer involved shooting.
It happened Saturday afternoon at a home near Torrey Pines and Washington. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gun standing in the driveway.
Officers told him several times to put the gun down and he refused. That's when police say the man then raised the gun at the officers, forcing them to open fire. The man was killed.
No one else was hurt. Neighbors say they heard gun shots come from the home before the police arrived. Officers say it appears the man may have shot out into the neighborhood because they did find a bullet in a car that was parked near by, but they're not sure what the man was shooting at. Neighbors say they think two brothers in the home were fighting.
The shooting is in under investigation.
