Brittany Edney joined the 8 News Now team in February 2016.

Brittany is a North Carolina native and graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. She received a B.A in Journalism and Mass Communications in 2009, the same year that UNC won the National Championship in basketball. Go Heels! Brittany is definitely Tar Heel born and bred but proud to now call Las Vegas home.

Brittany started her career as an anchor/reporter for Cleveland Headline News in Shelby, NC. There, she was able to experience one of her proudest moments as a journalist by interviewing a Holocaust survivor.

Shortly after her assignment in Shelby, she became the bureau chief/reporter for Time Warner Cable News in Newport, NC.

Most recently, Brittany worked in Greensboro, NC as a reporter/fill-in anchor for Time Warner Cable News and the station's joint newscast with ABC-TV affiliate WXLV.

Brittany has one younger sister, Ashley, and a 3lb fur baby (Yorkshire terrier) named Winnie Waffles. In her spare time, she loves to travel, dirt bike and water ski. If you see her out and about, please say hello!
