
The case began Sept. 8, 2007 with the turning in of a disturbing videotape. It eventually led to the Oct. 15 apprehension of fugitive Chester Stiles. Here is a timeline of the case.
Sept. 8: Darrin Tuck turns in a disturbing videotape that he says he found in the desert.
Sept. 19: Tuck is arrested for possession of child pornography.
Sept. 21: Nye County authorities ask for help identifying a young girl from a disturbing videotape. They say the girl was the victim of a "heinous assault." Also on this day, Darrin Tuck is released after police say he didn't commit the crime in the video.
Sept. 25: Metro lends their technical help by enhancing images from the video. Nye County Sheriff also asks Nevada Child Seekers to be ready to step in and help.
Sept. 26: Nye County officials hold an afternoon news conference where they release more enhanced photos of the suspect. They also release pictures of a second girl from the tape they say was not assaulted.
Sept. 27: The second girl is identified and said to be fine.
Sept: 28: Morning news conference held in which Chester "Chet" Arthur Stiles is named a person of interest. The name of the victim in tape was released. In an evening news conference, police say the victim was found alive and well and living in Las Vegas. An arrest warrant was put out for Stiles as a fugitive. Also, Nye County announced they were looking for Tuck again after he failed a polygraph test today.

Sept. 29: Nationwide manhunt is underway for Chester Stiles. Darrin Tuck is now on the run too -- after police went to arrest him at his home and discovered he wasn't there.
Sept. 30: Darrin Tuck turned himself in on a parole violation for non-payment of child support. Reports come in that Chester Stiles could be in El Cajon, California -- just outside of San Diego. Todd Allen comes forward, saying his mother dated Stiles for 10 years and that he lived in the same house as the victim, along with his mother, sister and Stiles.
Oct. 1: Tina Allen comes forward, saying she never realized she was putting friends and family at risk when she introduced Chester Stiles to them and that she now fears for her own safety.
Oct. 2: Police get a tip that Stiles is at the Salvation Army in Las Vegas. Also, the mother of the little girl releases a statement through her attorney.
Oct. 3: Metro employs the use of billboards to plaster Chester Stiles' photo for all to see. Darrin Tuck tries to clear his name during an interview with the I-Team's George Knapp.
Oct. 5: Polly Klaas's father weighs in on the search for Stiles.
Oct. 8: Chester Stiles was officially charged with 21 counts, in connection with sexual attacks on two young girls. A criminal complaint against Stiles accuses him of repeatedly raping a girl who was not even 3-years-old, forcing her into various sex acts and taping the entire assault. Police consider him armed and dangerous and ask anyone who has seen him to call them immediately.
Oct. 11: Reward is increased for information leading to the arrest of Stiles.
Oct. 12: Tuck charged for possession of child pornography.
Oct. 15: FBI considers putting Stiles on their Ten Most Wanted List. In the evening, Stiles arrested during a routine traffic stop near Green Valley Parkway and Sunset.
Oct. 17: Stiles makes his first court appearance, facing 24 counts. He's appointed Jeff Banks as his public defender. Eyewitness News learns the plan is for him to plead 'not guilty.'
