Las Vegas NowDoctor at Center of Hepatitis Outbreak Doesn't Show in Court
The doctor at the center of the hepatitis scare was noticeably absent in the court hearing Monday detailing the finances of his three practices.
Instead Dr. Dipak Desai's wife was present during the federal court hearing. She has a Power of Attorney over the assets. She avoided answering many questions or denied knowing how to answer them.
Officials were going through the finances for the Gastroenterology Center of Nevada, the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center and the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada. They will be back in court on Wednesday, Aug. 26th for the bankruptcy hearing. Desai ran the practices that are accused of unsafe medical practices infecting patients with hepatitis c.
