The three people found dead in a southeast Las Vegas home have been identified as a father, mother and adult son.

The Clark County Coroner has identified the victims as 80-year-old Paul Okin, his wife, 75-year-old Genevieve Okin and his son, 46-year-old Marque Okin. Police say the older man shot the other two before turning the gun on himself.

The crime scene was discovered Wednesday night near Tropicana and the Boulder Highway. A close family friend tells Eyewitness News that the woman had recently been diagnosed with cancer and her husband was very distraught over the diagnosis.

"Stress with her dying from cancer, he probably thought his life was over too. It is sad," said Marci Jojoba, neighbor.

A family friend says the son, Marque Okin, had discovered a suicide note written by his father recently and had moved in with his parents to help care for his mother.

It's believed there was a family disagreement over how the woman's medical treatment should proceed.

This is the sixth murder-suicide in the past two-and-a-half-months.
