The top federal prosecutor in Nevada says a state Department of Motor Vehicles clerk is facing federal bribery and false statement charges after her arrest in Las Vegas.
U.S. Attorney Greg Brower says 52-year-old Marilyn D. Millender of North Las Vegas was arrested Friday on federal charges that could get her 15 years in prison and a $500,000 fine if convicted.
Millender was scheduled for arraignment Friday afternoon on charges contained in a grand jury indictment handed up Wednesday.
Brower says Millender was a front-line clerk at a Nevada DMV office on North Decatur Boulevard in Las Vegas.
She is accused of taking cash payments of $5,000 or more in exchange for issuing state identification documents between June and December 2007, and of lying to the FBI during interviews last May and June.
