An experimental plane crashed into a home on August 22, 2008.The Clark County Commission is expected to consider a resolution this week in response to several fatal crashes at the North Las Vegas airport this year.
Commissioners are expected to ask Nevada's congressional delegation to draft legislation to specify what kinds of planes can fly to and from each airport within Clark County.
Randall Walker, director of aviation for Clark County, told the commission earlier that pilots and aviators who use the airport "have less training and more discretion" than commercial pilots who use McCarran International Airport. McCarran is Las Vegas' primary airport.
Walker and others hope they can work with the Federal Aviation Administration to improve safety by restricting student pilots and experimental planes at the airport.
