81-year-old man dies in Henderson fire

Henderson, NV. - One person is dead after a fire in Henderson Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 5:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of Ward Drive, near Sunset Road and Boulder Highway.

Henderson Firefighters say the victim may have been inside the home at the time of the fire and was pulled out by neighbors. Officials say the home was a motorized RV .

The man was transported in critical condition to University Medical Center, where he died. The man’s name and cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once his family has been notified.

A bystander was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation but declined to be transported to the hospital.

Four engines, one truck, two rescue units and an air resource apparatus responded to the fire. A City of Henderson Senior Fire Investigator and Henderson Police assisted in securing the property.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental. The total estimated loss is $10,000.
