1 person critical after being stung hundreds of times by bees, NLV Fire says

LAS VEGAS - North Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said three people were taken to the hospital after a bee attack near W. Craig Rd. and N. Simmons Street Wednesday.

It happened around 2:40 p.m. behind a popular grocery store in the area.

According to North Las Vegas Fire officials, a worker was performing maintenance on a decorated power or utility pole, one that resembled a palm tree, when the worker was stung hundreds of times.

The person was taken to Centennial Hospital in critical condition.  Two other people were also stung by the bees.  They were treated at the scene.

Two North Las Vegas Firefighters were also injured while securing the scene with the bees.  The North Las Vegas Fire Department says it's working to get a beekeeper to remove the bees.
