16-Year-Old Killed After Car Crashes Into Wall

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police report that a 16-year-old girl was killed in a crash on McLeod Drive near Desert Inn Road.

The crash happened just before 9 a.m. Monday. According to police, the car was heading northbound in the bus turnout lane on McLeod Drive when it left the road and hit a residential block wall.  

The driver is identified as 19-year-old Gustavo Mahuiztl. He suffered minor injuries. The 16-year-old female passenger was transported to Sunrise Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

This is the 92nd traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year. The crash is still under investigation.
