2 Clark County School Teachers Arrested in Student Sex Case

LAS VEGAS -- Two Clark County school teachers were arrested Monday in connection with sexual conduct with a 16-year-old girl.

Bambi M. Dewey, 32, and John E. Stalmach, 31, were taken into custody and booked into the Henderson Detention Center. They were charged with solicitation of a minor to engage in acts constituting crime against nature charges. Stalmach was also charged with sexual conduct between certain employees of school and pupil.

The girl is a student of Basic High School in Henderson. The sexual conduct is alleged to have taken place in a Henderson house the couple shared between November 2011 and January 2012, according to Henderson police.

Stalmach is also alleged to have had sex with the girl without Dewey, according to police.

The girl was a student at Brown Junior High School when the couple taught there.

Dewey is being held on a $20,000 bond and Stalmach is being held on a $60,000 bond. They are due in Henderson Justice Court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
