Accused Las Vegas Strip shooter found incompetent to stand trial

LAS VEGAS - The man accused of a deadly shooting inside a bus on the Las Vegas Strip was found incompetent to stand trial for murder.

Rolando Cardenas, 55, appeared in Clark County District Court Friday morning. He said nothing as the judge suspended the case and sent him to Muri Stein Hospital in Las Vegas, a state mental facility.

In March 2017, Cardenas is accused of  opening fire inside a bus in front of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. One person was killed and another was injured.

Cardenas told investigators he was unemployed and homeless and felt threatened and that was why he fired the gun.
