Accused Las Vegas Strip shooter is set to appear in court Friday

LAS VEGAS - A judge will need to decide whether the man accused of a shooting inside a bus on the strip is competent to face murder charges. Rolando Cardenas has been referred to state court for a mental health evaluation. His hearing is set for 9:00 a.m. Friday.

In March of 2017, police say Cardenas opened fire while inside a bus in front of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. One man was killed and another was injured.

Cardenas told investigators he fired the gun because he felt threatened and wanted to scare a man who sat near him.
