Man dies at Lake Mead while swimming

Boulder City, NV. - A 33-year-old man died at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area while swimming Wednesday afternoon.

After 3:30 p.m., the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a report of a possible drowning at Special Events Beach in the Boulder Beach area.

National Park Service rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife wardens and Community Ambulance responded and found three people in the water.

The three individuals were rescued by boat and brought to safety.

The male victim was pulled from the water by bystanders and was unconscious. CPR was performed and was later pronounced dead around 4:18 p.m. The victim was not wearing a life jacket.

The incident is under investigation.

The Clark County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and determine cause of death.
