Afternoon thunderstorms cause minor street flooding

LAS VEGAS -- The National Weather Service in Las Vegas canceled the flood advisory for Clark County at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Strong thunderstorms dropped heavy rainfall across the southern and southeastern Las Vegas valley, forcing the weather service to issue a flood advisory for urban areas. However, the storm moved out of the area by 6:30 p.m.

Locations that were originally impacted included Henderson, Lake Las Vegas, Las Vegas Bay, Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas Bay campground, East Las Vegas and Green Valley.

The severe thunderstorm warning for extreme west central Mohave County, Arizona and central Clark County expired at 4:15 p.m.

The severe thunderstorm warning for Sloan and the far southwestern part of the Clark County expired at 3:30 p.m.
