All Lanes Reopen After Fatal Crash

LAS VEGAS -- The intersection at Pecos and Russell roads is back open to traffic after a fatal crash closed it for several hours Friday morning, Metro Police said.

According to police, the driver who was killed ran through a stop sign at Sandhill Road and Rawhide Street. Officers pursued him but called it off because of the high rates of speed.

The driver then hit a light pole and concrete barrier at Pecos and Russell roads just after 8 a.m.

NV Energy had to replace the damaged light pole.
