American Airlines flight leaving McCarran delayed in take off due to threat on social media

LAS VEGAS - An American Airlines flight that was scheduled to leave McCarran International Airport may have had to be evacuated Tuesday night, according to reports.

A McCarran spokesperson said American Airlines flight 0073 was on the runway about to depart to Los Angeles, but it never got off the ground.

According to a McCarran spokesperson, the passengers were deplaned and taken by shuttle buses to the terminals with a threat being made via social media. No word on what kind of a threat was made.

A traffic camera in the area revealed that the plane was surrounded by multiple emergency vehicles on the runway.
