American Airlines plane delayed by non-credible threat

LAS VEGAS - An American Airlines flight out of Las Vegas was delayed and searched Thursday afternoon after receiving what the airlines called a "non-credible" threat.

Flight 1704, which was scheduled to fly to Charlotte, was held on the tarmac and surrounded by emergency vehicles at McCarran International Airport.

American Airlines says it "received a non-credible threat prior to departure and out of an abundance of caution, and at the request of the pilot, Las Vegas authorities are conducting a security check of the aircraft."

According to McCarran Airport officials, K-9 sweeps of baggage, cargo and all cargo holds were completed at 3:27 p.m. Nothing suspicious was discovered. The passengers were also rescreened by TSA.
